How 21 Day Fix Changed My Life and Ramping Up for 21 Day Fix Extreme

I’m a notorious workout quitter. I have very sporadically worked out my entire life and generally no longer than a few days at a time. The only time I’ve stuck with a workout longer was while I was pregnant with my daughter and I used an elliptical for 1 hour every day of the 9 months. I never really went on “diets” either since I never really ate a lot and was generally skinny.

I found myself with a 2 yr old daughter and not at all happy with where my weight had gone after giving birth. How did this happen? I don’t eat a lot of junk food… I don’t eat unhealthy… how did I get here?

A friend asked me back in November (2014) if I wanted to try the 21 Day Fix with her. I knew I had to do something and being accountable with her for only 21 days seemed like a good fit for me. Not to mention you were still allowed to have wine!


I started on November 17th and haven’t looked back! The 30 minute workouts are a breeze. The meal plan is simple and easy to follow taking out all the guesswork and calorie counting. I made it through my first round of the 21 Day Fix and lost 7lbs!

Why stop there? I still wanted to lose at least another 10 lbs, so I kept going. I’m in my 4th round right now and down 12 lbs. BeachBody just release the 21 Day Fix Extreme with a Countdown to Competition meal plan that I can’t wait to start! I’m really excited to see my final results after the Extreme Challenge and post my before and after photos.

Spiced Hot Apple Cider

Today has been one of those days where things just seem to be falling apart. We hired someone to come pressure wash the house and they agreed to be here at 9:00 am and didn’t show up until 11:15 am. Not a great start. I believe Lachlyn is teething or bored or something, but she is super clingy and cranky lately. I’ve also been handed several ads to complete for work all at once… it seemed I had nothing to do for weeks, then BAM – here’s some work for you! Not like I’m complaining, cause work is great when it comes to billable hours.

It’s been a lot cooler here in Georgia. I seem to have lost my taste for hot coffee, but I do love hot apple cider. Here’s my version:

Spiced Hot Apple Cider

  • 2 cups Simply Apple Cider
  • a dash of cinnamon
  • a dash of ground allspice
  • a dash of pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 jumbo marshmallow
  • 1 oz Rye Whiskey (optional ~ I use Whistle Pig Straight Rye Whiskey)

Heat the cider and spices in a small saucepan over med-low heat until your desired temperature. If using whiskey, pour it into the bottom of your mug. Put 1 jumbo marshmallow into your mug and pour the hot cider over it and serve!

Simple, easy and keeps you nice and warm!

Time Flies…

Autumn Baby

Time just flew right by me… I used to visit this lovely little neglected blog on a regular basis. Then BAM! There was a baby and work got crazy and all sorts of other things… but I’m hoping to get back in the groove of things starting right now! See you all around here more often.
