Okay, okay… I’ve had an Etsy shop for quite some time now, but I have only recently really started stocking it since I started dyeing a few months ago. I just got a new shipment of yarn bases and will be adding new items over the next few weeks, so please keep an eye out for new shop updates! I also take custom orders, so please contact me if you wish to do so.

I’ve recently come to a realization that I have a yarn problem. My problem is that I purchase yarn with no intention for it. I see yarn and I’m all like, “OOOOH squishy, soft, must-have it!” When I first started knitting, approximately 10 years ago, I didn’t know much about yarn or that there is a difference in yarn types. I really thought the extent of yarn was what you would find at AC Moore or Michael’s. I didn’t know there were such things like Local Yarn Stores (LYS) or better quality yarns. I bought A LOT of cheap, acrylic yarn and was none the wiser.
As the years went on, I discovered nicer yarns and just bought up what I wanted without projects in mind. Needless to say 10 years of collecting yarn, grew into quite a stash. I decided to stop buying new yarn, go through and donate as much as I could handle getting rid of, and knit it all up until I was down to half of what I had before.
I went through several bins of yarn and managed 2 garbage bags full of yarn to donate. I’ve also started making several different types of dishcloths to use up my extensive cotton stash to sell in my Etsy shop (nothing currently up for sale). It feels good to get serious about knitting and crocheting again. I put it by the wayside after Lachlyn was born and didn’t do much at all.
Here’s to crafting more often and using up resources already on hand!
